Multi-Featured Gps Watches by leading Brands

Global Positioning law is a wonder of the human brain which has charted new routes for human and technological advancements. It is being used invariably in all walks of life. The much sought after Gps helps in locating, navigating and tracking as well as holding a article of the maps and routes for the various locations. It also helps in calculating the altitude above the sea level as well as give exact coordinates while on a journey.

The most ordinarily used tool which has Gps facility is the wrist watch which is increasingly being used by both athletes and the non-athletic population alike. It is a multi-purpose and multi-functional device which can even count the steps a someone has walked along with the calculation of time, speed and the length travelled.

Gps 2000 Comes In Black

Casio was the first enterprise to introduce wrist watches which had the Gps facility. This watch, which was aptly named the Pathfinder, revolutionized the whole conception of time and space. With this watch, the athletes and adventure enthusiasts did not only know what time zone they were in rather it also told them where they were located at a given point of time. Casio introduced this watch in June 1999 at the Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Over the years, the enterprise has improved upon its products and has brought many more Gps enabled wrist watches. In 2006, Casio introduced the world's smallest Gps wrist watch which was much more streamlined, less heavy and the newest features attached with it. The watch weighed only 64 grams. But till date, Casio is known for the path breaking introduction of Gps in the Pathfinder.

After the preliminary introduction by Casio, other fellowships followed suit in manufacturing and producing such gadgets. One of the leading brands to promote the use of Gps watches is Garmin. This enterprise was started by two population namely, Garry Burrell & Min H. Kao, in 1989. The name Garmin represents the first three letters of the founding fathers. This enterprise develops technologies related to Gps, needed in the consumer, aviation and maritime fields. Garmin produced the first Gps watch in 1991 during the Gulf War for the soldiery personnel posted in Kuwait & Saudi Arabia. Then in 2000, it introduced a wrist watch called Forerunner which had the Gps facility and was designed for recreational runners. Garmin produces watches which are suitable for both men and women. It specializes in sports watches, heart rate monitors and watches which can be used for underwater swimmers. All these watches carry the Gps facility.

Suunto Oy, is a Finland based enterprise which commerce and markets magnetic sports compasses and other navigational products along with other mechanical and other electronic measurement devices. It was founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen, who was a keen sports enthusiast and an absolute outdoors man. AOKE AK08 (Or AK09) - Cheap Cell Phone Watches

If you are the kind of guy who doesn't like to carry to many things in his pockets, especially a cell phone, well we have good news for you! Since late 2008, they are now few cell phones watches available on the market but at that time, they were very heavy and expensive. The good news is that since summer 2009; you can buy the AOKE AK08 for less than USD 80 and its twin brother the AOKE AK09 costs few dollars more. It is actually one of the cheapest wrist watch mobile phone available. The main difference between the 2 phones is that the AK09 integrates a photo camera and a video recorder.

For this price you get a 1.3" touch screen (128*160 pixels) watch with a plastic case and strap. The design is very classic; it looks like an old bulky Casio watch from the eighties. But the interest of the watch is not in its design, but on what is has to offer: it's actually a fully functional tri-band GSM, with Bluetooth, USB and GPRS/WAP connections. It can send SMS and MMS and you can even go on the Internet with the standard WAP browser. For sure, you don't get the convenience of a 3.2" touch screen like on most of the phones, but it is there if you need it.

USB Cable Micro Mini

As it has Bluetooth, we recommend to buy for few more dollars the optional Bluetooth headset, so like that you get your hands free when talking over the phone.

What is also amazing with the AK08 or AK09 is that AOKE had found enough space in the watch to add multimedia functions. It has an MP3 music player, a photo viewer, a voice recorder, a video player and for the AK09, a photo and video camera (640*480 & 0.3 Mega Pixels). As file storage, the AK08 has an internal memory of 505 K, expendable with a TF card up to 2 GB. It integrates a micro USB plug so it can also be used as a U-disk to store data. The USB cover is made of plastic and according to what we have seen, it will not last very long and on some watches, it is also poorly adjusted.

At rest the phone watch displays time, if you tap the screen or press one of the command buttons, it will switch to the phone mode. Each time you push a command, it will move to another phone function. As the display is very small, AOKE supplies the phone with a tiny stylus. You can still manage to dial a phone number with the finger, but it is mandatory to use the stylus to write a message.

If you are not focus on style but more on functionalities and if you are tight on budget, the AOKE AK08 & AK09 are for you. For the price, it would be difficult to ask for more.
